Voluntary Opportunities


We have decided to recruit two new trustees to aid with the continuing development of our charity. The trustees will specialize in safeguarding or volunteer coordination. As a trustee, you'll have the opportunity to impact all parts of The Woodworks Project, thereby helping a huge variety of individuals work through their own challenges.

Shop Assistants

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and committed individuals to volunteer in our Woodworks Shop, located in central Bath. Our volunteers at the Woodworks Shop make a genuine difference to the success of The Woodworks Project. Our shop provides a valuable funding stream to enable us to continue providing workshop projects, a tangible end point for our service user’s work, and serves as the public face of our charity; it is therefore a vital part of our organisation. 

Your duties will be working with the Shop Manager in the day-to-day running of the shop, including making and recording sales, customer service and helping with the upkeep and appearance of the shop premises.

Personal qualities:

  • Good listening and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in developing new skills
  • Reliable

All our volunteers are essential to the success of The Woodworks Project, whether this is supporting our retail team in The Woodworks Shop, or assisting our tutors in their workshop teaching.  Our volunteers enable us to continue providing workshop projects and experiences to vulnerable and disadvantaged people from our community, helping to improve their lives.  Becoming one of our volunteers will enable you to:

You will receive an induction and training as part of your role as a volunteer.

We are  looking for friendly and enthusiastic people, who are able to commit to at least one half day per week for a minimum of six months. We are especially keen to hear from you if you are able to commit to a Saturday or Sunday!
