Our three-legged stool is a great beginners course to learn some woodworking basics. Wood is a tactile material, and learning to manipulate and shape a piece of wood is a great way to switch off from the day-to-day and re-focus on yourself!
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn traditional woodworking skills to make a three-legged stool, a wonderful addition to any home. This course gives students an opportunity to build upon skills learnt on previous courses. The course runs over six sessions, from 1pm-5pm and will enable six people to learn and make a stool together.
Underpinned by the 5 Ways of Wellbeing, during this course you will learn new skills, share your learning with other workshop students, gain a sense of achievement, notice the nuances of different wood grains and keep active!
Aimed at men and woman of all ages, this introductory course will give you a good grounding in fundamental woodworking skills.
During this course you will learn how to:
- Measure and mark accurately
- Plane a taper
- Use a pillar drill
- Shape a piece of wood
- Sand and finish the end-product
